Relationship Counselling
Couples therapy can help with serious issues in your relationship or just help you and your partner to strengthen your connection. We offer a range of services to people of all ages, backgrounds, sexual orientations and gender identities to strengthen their relationships.
What is Relationship Counselling?
Our relationship therapy provides a caring, safe and confidential environment where you can talk about your issues and work with our highly trained counsellors on how to resolve them.
All our counsellors are experts in their field and have their own personal styles. We will match which one is best for you. However, they will each follow 3 basic steps.
- They will explore your story, understand your problems and what affect they are having on your relationship. They will also ask about how it started and the changes you would like to make in your life.
- The second step is for you to understand your story and why you are struggling with this problem. We want to discover the things that are stopping you overcoming it on your own.
- Finally the counsellor will help you to rewrite your story and to find the resources within you and your relationship to resolve your problems or at least to cope with them better.
And if you go as a couple they will help you to find a way to work through your problems together. Not only the ones you have now, but provide the tools to overcome situations in the future.
Over 90% of our clients say counselling strengthened their relationship. There is one thing we can promise you – it will not hurt to give it a go!
What sort of issues can counselling help with?
People come to see us for all sorts of reasons.
- Affairs and cheating
- Separation and divorce
- Arguing and conflict
- Sex and intimacy
- Money or family worries
Perhaps you are constantly arguing or not talking at all? Do you need to decide if you relationship is coming to an end or do you need to come to terms with the fact that it is already over? Or if you have decided to separate then you want help to do it as amicably as possible.
You can attend as an individual. For example, you may want help with understanding why you have difficulty making connections or keeping partners.
If you come to the Relationship Therapy Centre as a couple we will see you individually at first and then we’ll see you together. Individual assessment provides a safe place for each of you to explain your reasons for attending and to tell the counsellor what issues you would like to work on together. What you discuss with your counsellor in your individual time is always confidential to you.
You don’t need a referral from a GP for any of our services. Whatever the issue, your counsellor will not judge you and everything you say will be confidential.
What’s the cost of relationship counselling?
The Relationship Therapy Centre is a charity that helps people improve their relationships. We try to keep our session costs low, but since we don’t get local or government funding, we do need to charge for our services. What you pay for your counselling depends on your individual circumstances and if we have any available bursary support.
The best way to find out if we can help is to get in contact.
How does couples therapy work?
We offer couples therapy over a wide area from Ludlow in the north west to the Cotswolds in the south east. This means you can have face to face counselling to suit you during the day or evenings if you live anywhere in or around Hereford, Kidderminster, Bromsgrove, Worcester, Ross on Wye, Evesham, Broadway, Stow on the Wold, Cheltenham, Gloucester or Stroud. There is also the option to have counselling via webcam.
We know that one size doesn’t fit all, a single solution or approach cannot adequately address the diverse needs or circumstances of different individuals or situations. That is why the best way to find out if we can help is to get in contact, and we can discuss the best strategy for your individual circumstances.
